Member Levels

DBIA offers two membership options:

  • Individual Membership
  • Industry Partner Membership

Individual Members enjoy benefits such as:

Networking and Collaboration: Partnering and teaming with other design and construction industry firms is an integral part of design-build. DBIA provides conferences, forums, journals and workshops for individuals to “network” and share experiences and approaches to design-build and integrated services with colleagues and owners.

Professional Development: DBIA provides access to the cutting edge techniques, tools and procedures for effective and efficient training through its numerous educational opportunities (including Designated, Design-Build Professional™ and Certificate of Mastery Programs).

Information: Members enjoy access to leading design-build publications, including Design-Build DATELINE and other specialized industry journals.

Committee Involvement and Awards: DBIA members are able to hone their leadership skills through active participation in a wide range of committee activities such as: planning conferences; recognizing outstanding member and chapter contributions; developing special reports and publications; and commenting on legislation.

Advocacy and Legislative Leadership: Members work together to promote integrated services and educate owners of the value of design-build. DBIA advocates change in laws and regulations to encourage equal opportunity for design-build and integrated services delivery.

Access to Regional DBIA Offices: DBIA maintains a network of sixteen regional offices that advance design-build and promote networking locally. Student Chapters are also expanding and increasing in number at leading colleges and universities

Industry Partner Memberships

Industry Partner Memberships are aimed at organizations; dues include full member benefits for several individuals, with the option of adding even more. DBIA industry partners include:
  • AE/EA Firms
  • At-Risk Firms
  • Professional Services Firms
  • Public/Private Owners
  • Specialty Contractors or Manufacturer/Supplier Firms
**Dues range from $500 annually for small public/private firms up to $10,000 for at-risk firms generating $300 million in revenue.

Individual Memberships

Individual Memberships apply to a single person, including:
  • Owners
  • Practitioners
  • Consultants/Owner Representatives
  • Young Professional​s
  • Students and Teachers
  • Retired Members
**Annual dues for owners, young professionals, students, and academics are less than $100. Industry pros pay $379 annually (or $249 for those employed at an industry partner that has used its allotted slots).

As Industry Partners, firms’ receive discounts on course and conference registrations for all employees. DBIA will also develop specialized classes to suit an organization’s specific needs.

Marketing and Strategic Opportunities: DBIA industry partners are authorized to use the statement “DBIA Industry Partner” and the DBIA logo on their marketing materials.

Industry Partner Contacts: Industry Partner member firms are eligible to assign contacts within their organization as the focal point for DBIA (see chart below for number of contacts by firm type). Each individual contact will receive:

  • a subscription to Design-Build DATELINE;
  • access to the member only section of the website;
  • access to E-pipeline; and
  • all mailings relating to DBIA products and services.
